The trouble with finding something to say, or the trick of having anything to say at all.
I created this blog 9 months ago, thinking i would accompany my photos with all these witty and meaningful, sometimes even terrifically significant texts which might amuse some and maybe even inspire others in their life. But as soon as I sat down trying to think of an interesting topic for my imaginary readers, or even something important to me that i wanted to share, I hit total writers block. The subjects were either to personal to share with the world or so incredibly complex that, could I have distilled the answer into one short blog post I would have been viable to win a Nobel Prize.
In search of inspiration I turned to Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram and all kinds of different blogs. All were interesting, funny and some even pertinent, but what struck me the most was: ALL of them seemed to have something to say on a frequent or even daily basis. The thought alone of having to write something intelligible every day for other people to read put my stress levels through the roof! Everything seems to have been written or said by other people already. Most of life’s lessons have been experienced and put down on paper by someone somewhere at some point. So what, by all that is relevant, would I have to add to that?
Because quite frankly, there isn’t that much to say. And also: would people please be so kind as to start thinking for themselves and not rely on other people to fill the void between their ears, thank you. I have come to think that we rely on the opinions (of and on things) of others to much. We are loath to decide for ourselves whether our decisions are alright for us, or maybe we should be thinking/doing something different? What if we make a mistake and other people judge us for it? Oh the horror! How will life go on???
Life is a purely subjective experience. What is important or feels right for you may not be appreciated, approved of, or recommended by others. No matter, because they are not you and cannot, most probably don’t want to, understand your point of view. So don’t worry, do your thing, and above all try to enjoy every minute of it because this is your life and you decide how you want to live it! You will soon find out if the decision was right or wrong. The lesson is learned either way.
That’s all the advice and insight i can pass on to anybody who is interested. The rest can be found in books from people who have/had a lot to say and some good advice to give on that subject, and did so in a very eloquent and engaging manner. For example: Serge King, Louise L.Hay, Hermann Hesse, Rudolf Steiner, Vera F. Birkenbiehl, Paolo Coelho to name a few. There are thousands more. Please feel free to pick the authors you are comfortable with and think you can learn the most from.
There are 2 Websites I can recommend:
For its beautiful articles about art, science, philosophy, creativity, children’s books, and other strands of our search for truth, beauty, and meaning.
For the inspirational content and applicable articles to help you find peace and happiness.
Thanks for tuning in. I won’t say see you soon, because i have no idea when and even if i will write a second blog post.
Bye for now 🙂
